Some books contain blank pages of acid-free handmade paper; others contain pages of heavyweight ivory cartridge paper. I also make some books with ‘deckled’ handmade paper.

In most cases the paper in my sketchbooks is stitched directly into the leather binding. This is an extremely robust style of binding, and allows you to open the book completely flat at any page. If you have ever struggled with sketchbooks that repeatedly try to close themselves while you are working you will appreciate the value of this!.
